Meeting with DFAT

Our CEO Adam Whittington in Canberra today meeting with government officials to discuss #parentalchildabduction

CARI – Child Abduction Recovery International would like to thank Julie Bishop and DFAT officials for the opportunity to discuss topics including but not limited to making it a crime under Australian law to take children out of Australia without the consent of the other parent, to illegally retain Australian children in a foreign country, prevention measures stopping children being taken out of Australia and regulating this industry of child recovery to protect parents from frauds.

Our meeting was very positive and it’s nice to see DFAT are working on this difficult topic.

CARI will continue to talk, work and promote awareness of #IPCA with the Australian government departments. CARI’s mission will be to make sure the appropriate laws are implemented to help reduce the number of Australian children being abducted out of Australia.

CARI will shortly update our website with all the appropriate links for Australian parents to research the correct information direct from DFAT.
